tesera is a new way for computers to send data to each other, even when parts of the network are slow, unreliable, or unavailable

unlike standard data transfer on the internet, tesera encrypts data, breaks it into many pieces, and sends those pieces across multiple paths through computers called relays. once the receiving computer collects enough pieces, it can reconstruct the original data

anyone can run a relay and contribute bandwidth to tesera. because the data is encrypted, relays can move it without being able to read the original data being transferred
